The Story
— A note from the clubhouse
We can't fix your swing. We gave up on ours years ago.
Divot Golf started the way most bad decisions do: some friends, a golf course in Detroit, and the creeping realization that we were never getting better at this game. Somewhere around the third lost ball of the front nine, it hit us — if the scorecard is a lost cause, the least we could do is look good posting it.
So we built the brand we couldn't find. Golf gear that doesn't take itself seriously, made by people who take the making very seriously.
Embroidered in Detroit. Never printed.
Every piece we sell is embroidered and hand-finished in Detroit. No heat transfers, no vinyl, no logo slapped on by a machine in a warehouse three time zones away. Stitching costs more and takes longer, and we do it anyway — because a hat you'll wear for five years shouldn't be decorated like a disposable one.
That's the whole trick, honestly. The joke is on the outside. The quality is in the stitching.
Serious gear for unserious golfers.
We make gear for the back-nine beer crowd. The quit-keeping-score-three-holes-ago crowd. The people who know golf is a walk with friends occasionally interrupted by disappointment — and wouldn't trade it for anything.
You will not find tour-bro performance claims here. No fabric that promises to shave two strokes. Our stuff is premium because premium is how it's made, not because a pro wore it on Sunday. We'd rather be the hat you reach for every weekend than the polo you save for a round you'll never play.
Dress better than you play.
That's the pitch. That's the whole philosophy. Nobody here is fixing your slice — but the right gear makes a triple bogey look intentional, and there's real dignity in that.
Welcome to Divot. Look sharp. Swing sloppy.
